These recycled art sculptures are welded by Zimbabwean metal artists using upcycled oil drums and scrap metal. Each giraffe is handcrafted from the ground up and exhibits its own unique characteristics and personality. This piece is hand-painted in the pattern of classic giraffe patches, and then finished with a protective varnish.
The sculptures can be displayed inside or outside of the home, with the metal developing a lovely patina with exposure to the elements.
Measures 84.5″ tall (approximately 7 feet) x 40″ long x 16″ wide.
This oversized sculpture ships on a pallet, and extra shipping fees are required. Please scroll down for more shipping information.
2 of the giraffe’s feet have metal loops for anchoring this sculpture safely in place. Anchoring hardware not included.
About the Artisans:
Artisans at the Tonderai Metal Works in Zimbabwe use recycled materials and discarded oil drums to create stunning works of art and feature one-of-a-kind detailing.
About Shipping:
Shipping for oil drum sculptures requires a pallet and starts at $300. To the East Coast, we have seen costs as high as $400-$650, but they vary throughout the year.
After your purchase, we will work with a freight company to determine the exact shipping cost for the pallet to your location, from our warehouse in Oregon. Goodbye Malaria aims to eradicate malaria in Mozambique, while investing in Africa’s future, creating employment and protecting, changing and saving lives. This bracelet was inspired by Africa – it represents the continent’s heart and soul and the hope for better, happier lives and opportunities for the people of Africa. The yellow beads represent sunshine, life, and happiness to communities and families who have been in the dark – families that have been smitten by the disease. The red beads symbolize ‘the heart’, which represents ‘life’. Inspiration behind the red beads comes from the stamens of the Citronella flower – without the stamens there is no life.
